Airborne Air Pollutant Emission Characteristics of Mobile Vehicles in Taiwan

This study examines the air pollutant emission characteristics, activity intensity, and trends of mobile sources from 2013 to 2021. The target pollutants include criteria (fine particulate matters, nitrogen oxides, hydrocarbons) hazardous (benzene, formaldehyde, BaP). results indicated that intensity levels road in Taiwan were148 × 109, 156 159 155 109 km/year 2013, 2016, 2019, 2021, respectively, with largest proportion attributed gasoline passenger cars (42.6%), followed by four-stroke motorcycles (32.6%). An factor PM2.5 was estimated EPA’s MOVES (Motor Vehicle Emission Simulator) model, showed sequence diesel > motorcycle; NOx using MOBILE6.2 order HC compiled use vehicle dynamometer data, motorcycle vehicles. Further for benzene ≥ diesel; formaldehyde gasoline. BaP factors different types were MOVES, old heavy-duty vehicles highest.
